Our Story

cieCap's co-founders, Mark Rutledge and Ben Gurga, have decided to take a huge leap and bootstrap the continued growth and scaling of this new social gaming and gamification venture. We have had a successful pilot launch over the past two months. We have been fortunate to engage with a number of local business owners and local consumers that have supported our vision and shared with us how much they LOVE cieCap!

 

The cieCap Effect

We created cieCap to bring a new, innovative technology to local businesses whose growth will benefit the development of the communities around them. cieCap fills a market need for customers to engage with the businesses closest to them, earn points for rewards and discounts all while having fun! In return, those businesses are able to offer their customers a fun experience and inform them of their products and services, the history of their community and ways their business positively contribute to the community.

 

Why We Need Your Help

We are taking a different course than many tech startups and focusing on building a product and company that builds communities. To do this we are bootstrapping our company, pulling from our own savings, resilience and networks to grow what will be a transformative social gaming and local business marketing tool. Along the way, we plan to rewrite the blueprint on building a successful, profitable tech company for the 21st century. Bootstrapping is not the easiest path to choose, but we believe it will be the most fulfilling and will allow us to focus on what will be best for you, our users, and for businesses using cieCap for marketing. We need your help as a funding partner and an early spokesperson for cieCap so we can continue on this path towards a fun and socially beneficial technology platform.

 

 

What Your Help Will Go Towards

Your funding support will go towards:
  • Providing a month of free cieCap services to 100 local businesses. 30 each in Detroit, MI and New Orleans, LA; 40 in Pittsburgh, PA. These three cities are all experiencing major economic development and have substantial independent business communities -- $10,000 Value
  • Hosting cieCap Launch Labs in the above 3 cities to bring together members of local technology, business and community development ecosystems to design and test new social gamification tools and officially launch cieCap -- $3,500 Value
  • Acquire small office space in Detroit, MI for operations and development for 3 staff persons -- $900 Value
  • Print marketing materials for the 100 businesses we will begin rolling cieCap out through -- $350 Value
  • Begin rolling cieCap out in additional markets: New York, NY; Washington, DC; Chicago, IL; San Francisco, CA; Oakland, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Portland, OR -- $300 Value
