The Project
Children of the Wall is a documentary about the rise of Berlin as a creative capital after the fall of the Berlin Wall. The story is told by artists who filled the vacuum left in the wake of its collapse and offers a glimpse into how gentrification and development threaten what they created.
The People
We interviewed 15 artists: dancers, musicians, painters, a dance-juggler, photographer, raw food chef, male belly dancer, film producer, singer and writer. Read more about the artists by visiting the Artist Profiles section on our website.
The Passi
on
We (the director and producer) have spent more than three years working on this project. The entire thing up to this point (including hundreds of hours of research, two trips to Berlin, construction of a website and trailer, etc.) has been paid for with our personal funds and most importantly our time. One of our German friends described us this way: "Two crazy Americans with a passion project." We are indeed very passionate about the artists we interviewed (they are super cool people!) and the stories they tell, and we would love for you to be a part of this passion project. Read our bios here.
The Partnership
We aren't asking for a lot from you... Just a few minutes of your time (to watch the trailer posted above), a few dollars (if you are able), and your help in spreading the word to your friends. Any support on any level (not just monetary) is very much appreciated! (See the VIP Perks listed below for the cool stuff you can score!). Now is your opportunity to join us.
We are spending lots of time editing the documentary and getting it ready for distribution with many economic hurdles, such as image and music licensing, between us and the finished film. Your support helps us with any and all of these steps towards making this project a success!
We also opportunities for larger sponsorships, which would include advance copies of the Children of the Wall DVD, an executive producer credit, and logo placement. Contact us here for more information.
Can't afford to donate today?
