What is Bulletproof Angel?

Bulletproof Angel is a new transmedia property, created by writers Charles Quevedo & Glenn Arseneau. We are planning to bring her to life in comics, movies, toys, cartoons, lunch boxes (do kids still carry lunch boxes?), and much more--but, first thing's first: we want to tell her story in a 100-page graphic novel.

We have assembled a top-notch art team, consisting of penciller Christopher Hanchey, inker Vic Moya, and colorist Ivan Plascencia and we are ready to bring Bulletproof Angel to the masses! Basically, we want to create the next Batman, Spider-Man, or Wonder Woman, and we need YOUR help to make that a reality!

Bulletproof Angel is 100% independent. We do NOT currently have publisher support (although we are certainly open to offers), and are doing this on our own. 

Why Are We Doing This?

We want to prove that a grassroots campaign can work for independent media properties, that the Internet Age is the greatest opportunity for creative folks of our (or perhaps any) lifetime and we want to show just how far a good idea and a lot of hard work can go.

Bulletproof Angel was literally born out of social media and the Internet. Glenn and Charlie live on literal opposite ends of North America, in different countries (Canada and the U.S., respectively) and have never met in person.  Likewise, the entire creative team are spread throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and we have only been able to "meet" and create this property together through the power of social media and the Internet.

Glenn and Charlie are both hardworking, regular guys who simply dream of being able to create for a living. In no way is one cent of any money raised in this campaign going towards either of them personally, but turning this property into a reality will be the boost they need to take their respective creative careers to the next level.

A Call to Arms!

The $10,000 we are asking for might seem like a lot but, in reality, it's not even the total of what we need to produce the graphic novel (it will actually cost about $15,000), let alone print, market, and distribute it. 

Writer/Creators Glenn Arseneau & Charles Quevedo and media partner Skyfarm Entertainment are taking ZERO payment for this project. 100% of the funds raised are going to the artistic team to produce the artwork for the book. 

Why aren't we asking for the full $15,000?

As you can see, we are only asking for 2/3 of the total we need. This is because we believe so strongly in this property that we are willing to take on costs of $5,000+ out   of our own pockets to bring it to life. If our campaign is successful beyond our wildest dreams and we happen to raise the full amount from donations, we will still put in our own $5,000 and put it towards marketing, printing, distribution, etc.

If we get the money, can we pull this project off?

• Writer and co-creator Glenn Arseneau has written award-winning short films and is the author and creator of comic book properties THE PRICE (215 Ink), GREYMAN (Arcana), TED (tbd), and KILLSWITCH (tbd), as well as having written numerous short pieces for various anthologies. He also holds a Master's degree, where his major project focused specifically on mythology and story structure in modern entertainment.

• Penciller Christopher Hanchey is a professional illustrator and artist who has done penciling work for Marvel Comics, Arcana Studios, Creator's Edge Press, and Arcade Comics, and has worked in the film and animation industries as a storyboard and concept artist. 

• Colorist Ivan Plascencia has worked for several big-name publishers, including Image Comics, where he was the colorist on several issues of Robert Kirkman's The Astounding Wolfman and Invincible, and Kirkman/Todd McFarlane's Haunt.
