Have you ever dreamt of what it would be like when world peace finally came true?  Or what it would take for it to happen?  I think we all wish for some kind of peace in our lives.

If you think you would benefit from world peace (even if you dont think it would be possible), this is a project that you will love and want to get involved with.

We want to make a difference in the world and we believe this is the little movie that will.

Why this Project?

The seed of this project began many years ago when I was very young.  I grew up traumatized by my fathers stories and childhood memories as a victim of war.    They were horrific and no one should ever have to suffer like that, much less a child!!

I grew to hate war, but much worse, my hatred was self-destructive.  With the help of many I was able to heal my hatred but the pain of my vision and the devastating effects of war on children still haunt me.

I want to make a difference.  I want to inspire people to create peace in their lives and if enough of us do well be taking a giant step towards world peace.

What is the Project?

BOY is the story of an 8 year-old boy who struggles to survive war and the wrath of a heartless soldier and in spite of it all gains the insight to lead a world to peace.

This short film (approximately 12 minutes) will inspire us all to create peace in our lives.  It will teach us as well, that no matter what happens to us theres always a positive to be gained.

You had me at Have you ever dreamt, how can I make a difference?

There are 3 ways that you can make a difference:

1)   Click on Fund My Project and support this project financially,

2)   Donate in-kind,

If you have anything you would like to donate, such as services or product(s) or anything else that we havent thought of but that would be useful, we will be more that happy AND grateful to accept all gifts... you will be graciously thanked in the credits.  Please contact us by email at boy@ellefilme.com

3)   Spread the word by using the share tools.

Why $80,000?  Thats a lot of money?

The completed project will cost about $120,000.  We're not going to skimp on anything, because we would like this project to have the production value it deserves.  Our plans are to take it to the Toronto International Film Festival, the Berlin International Film Festival and be nominated and win an Oscar.  We want to make a difference and the more high profile this project is, the more people will see it and the greater the difference we will make.

Currently we are seeking the funds for the production portion only, which is $80,000.

The basic production budget breaks down as follows:

      Cast - $15,000

      Background - $8000

      Crew - $32,000

      Equipment - $7000

      Supplies - $5000

      Various Expenses - $11,000

      Stock - $2000

What if you dont raise the $80,000?

We will!  But on the outside chance that we dont, heres what well do:

a)     If we raise less than $45,000, we will reassess our campaign and create a new one to raise the remaining funds.

b)    If we raise over $45,000 but less than $80, 000, we will move forward with the production on a reduced budget and continue seeking the lacking funds through a new campaign and private funding.

What happens if you raise more that $80,000?

God bless you for even thinking that!  If we are so lucky to move you to that point, we will put the remaining funds towards the post-production ($20,000) and publicity ($8000) and other incidental costs.  Any moneys collected over the total needs of this project, will be donated to various agencies that support peace and help children who are victims of war.

So what do I get for contributing to this project?

First of all you get the fulfilling feeling of having made a difference.  Wouldnt you agree that this feeling is more than the money, time, service or product that you contribute?

In addition to that, with each suggested donation that appears on the right, we describe the perks that come with it.  Please keep in mind that we want to make sure that the money we raise will go directly to the production of BOY so weve tried to make the perks interesting, enticing and with the least financial impact on the project as possible.

Also, if you do contribute in-kind, you will be officially thanked in the film credits and of course on the website.

When will the project be completed and when will I be able to see the fruits of my participation?

The delivery date is July 6th, 2011.  We are submitting this film to the Toronto International Film Festival which takes place in September of 2011, the Oscar which takes place in February 2012 and the Berlinale which takes place in March 2012.  On the outside chance that we can also submit to the Cannes Film Festival, it takes place  in May 2012.

Who else is involved in this project?

We are continuously building our production team that currently consists of:

      J. Elizabeth Martin Producer

      Steve Werblun Storyboard Artist

      Genevieve Anderson, Filmmaker Consultant

      Gilbert Shilton, Writer/Director Consultant

On a more personal note, my greatest supporters are my husband, my friends and  my family who are all always there for me no matter what.  Without them, there would definitely be no project.

Thats it for now

Were going to keep the information in this campaign as current as possible.  We are also setting up a BOY page on Facebook which we will announce here as soon as it is ready.

On behalf of all those already involved with BOY, I would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read this pitch and your participation.

Peace and love!
