When considering how to price your perks remember: lower value perks attract more total contributions, while higher value perks raise a higher percentage of total funds. Though each campaign is different, we recommend offering strong perks priced at $25, $50, $100, $500, and $1000.
We found the $25 perk is the single most claimed perk, representing nearly 25% of all perks that are selected. While the $25 dollar perk is only responsible for raising 11% of total funds, the increased activity you can generate from new contributors will help bring more exposure to your campaign and boost your gogofactor. This is critical to campaign success!
At the same time, we found that perks with higher values may represent a larger percentage of your total funds. $100 perks raise more money than any other perk price and make up nearly 30% of total funds. A $100 perk combined with the next three perk price points: $50, $500, and $1000 makes up about 70% of total money raised by perks on Indiegogo. Offering awesome perks at these price points can go a long way in helping you reach and exceed your goal!
The sci-fi video series Chronicles of Syntax has used strategic perk pricing to its advantage. As of July 16th, the campaign is more than 70% of its way to its goal of $20,000. Some of its perks include a digital download and a signed poster for $25, a signed dvd box set a signed copy of the 1st season’s script, and a limited edition t-shirt for $100. $500 gets you an actual weapon prop, associate producer credits, and a personal invite to their London premier.
We recommend taking advantage of both insights. Lower-priced perks will expand your funding base and bring greater visibility to your campaign. The greater your campaign visibility, the higher your chance of finding truly passionate funders who will claim the higher-priced perks to help you reach your goal.

Hi Catherine, think of perks that are pertinent to your crowdfunding idea and that people will want and get value from. Then you build the price of the perk into the perk price plus add more money so that you actually make some money from it as well.
For example, if someone wanted to give away a t-shirt as a perk then they would source a place to print on t-shirts and get a cost for it. If the t-shirt was going to cost you $15 to print then you might put that t-shirt under a $25 perk price. That way for every $25 perk you make $10 (and you don’t have to come up with the cost of the t-shirt out of your own money).
Consider shipping costs as well. Do you want to include this in the cost of the perk or do you want to write under the perk “please add $5 (etc) for shipping”.
And think about how many people might take up particular perks you offer (some perks will be more desirable on the whole than others), then to get an idea of how much you might profit (after all the perks are provided) consider how many people might ‘buy’ each perk and do the maths on the profit, will this be enough money to fund your crowdfunding idea?
Have a look at others’ perks to see what their offering, see what perk prices that have for those offers and are people actually ‘buying’ those perks? This will give you an idea of what kinds of things people actually want as a perk.
The t-shirt is just one idea. You can come up with lots of ideas that may better reflect what you are doing.

If the t-shirt example is true then she might just as well sell t-shirts and not go to Indiegogo at all. The shirt might cost $15 (unlikely) but there is also the cost of designing it and her time. In the end she wouldn’t make $10. What about that?

I started my campaign last week and I have been promoting it day and night. However, I have received very little visitors/views and the only money I’ve received have been from relatives. That’s all fine and dandy, but how can I get the general public to check out my page? As to the perks, I don’t really have much money to give any substantial perks albeit why I’m campaigning.
