We’re often asked by campaigners, ‘How can I get ‘Featured on the Homepage?’ Everyone has the chance to find real estate on the main page of our platform as well as kudos through our social media channels and this is all determined by YOU! The gogofactor is an algorithm that tracks activity – everything from how much gets funded on your campaign page, to promotions, comments and how frequently you update.
Indiegogo is designed as an open platform and we’re proud to include anyone from around the world. But the real work is rooted in how active you are. Best expressed by Our COO/Founder Danae Ringelmann, ‘We believe in an even playing field where everyone has equal opportunity for success. We feature and promote campaigns based on their gogofactor’.
Slava Rubin, our CEO/Founder supports, adding; ‘We don’t believe any one person should decide if your campaign deserves promotion. Instead it’s YOU that has the power to earn your promotion. Some campaigns get over 90% from complete strangers whilst others never earn a dollar. The higher your gogofactor, the more promotion you get from Indiegogo, and the higher your chances are at earning the coveted Indiegogo effect!’
‘But wait, I’ve done all that!’ you say? That means you’re rocking the internal drivers that you the campaign owner controls (frequency of updates, number of videos, the number of team members as part of your campaign) but this leaves the other 50% of factors up to the external activities (pageviews, number of funders, % of goal completed). And remember, your position in the gogofactor chain is relative to how other campaigns are driving their activity. So don’t fret, keep focused on your daily campaign activities and we’re confident you’ll rise fast!
Now, what happens once you’ve climbed up the ranks in our tracking system? We shout you out on our Homepage, include you in our weekly newsletter, push you out onto our social media channels and your placement in some of our press initiatives in global publications.
So keep talking to us on Twitter or Facebook and don’t forget to keep checking our blog for more tips. Go, Go, Goooo!

Hi there! I am having problems with my campaign at the moment!!! My paypal option (which most Europeans desire to choose) is NOT working. Can someone help me out!!

Hi, can someone please help me out. I’m completely new and don’t know how the system works yet. Could someone check out my campaign and let me know about your opinion:

Thank You.
Hi everyone,
Also looking for some constructive criticism, or just general advice. Just started my first campaign so I’m only about 75% confident that I set it up adequately enough (try not to be too harsh if you’re going to give negative remarks!). Appreciate the feedback.

Kudos for your transparency Indie Go Go! That is a very rare trait these days, especially with other sites, who try to keep the tools of success as muddled as possible.
GOGO Factor, we want it, and our mission is much in line with the Indie Go Go mantra, And we have a great product to share.
So Now what, we started to push on the social media fronts and trying to involve friends and family.
Starting to build referrals and drive traffic.
Please let me know if you can view our campaign and offer an insights as to how we can really get the GOGO Mojo moving!

To favour those who are already popular and getting plenty of traffic is wrong, Period. You should try and help small people who have less resources and fewer friends or help and who thus turn to you. Shame on you . It is all about money isn’t it but not in a good way such that you have set this all up to help those in need. But in a bad way, to help those who need more and get yourselves more.
Wow Sally, you need to read more carefully and think before you post. I will try to do the same and not attack you directly.
The algorithmic system is a fair one.
Those who are active i.e. updating and adding info and communicating get a higher factor. Seems good to me.
[Frequency of updates, number of videos, the number of team members as part of your campaign] are 50% of the equation.
Also taking someone who is doing well but not yet there, and might not get there with out a gogopromo… makes more sense than promoting projects whose publisher can’t be arsed to post or update or network.
If you complain of lack of friends? Maybe you should try some networking. (which would incidentally raise your gogo factor)
Resources? WHAT!? You need a computer, that’s it. Last time I checked the public library still has these. So what more do you need? Most even have AV equipment you can borrow.
More help? If you can’t find anyone willing to help you in your circle of friends maybe you need to reevaluate your project.
And just how would you choose which projects to promote? Pick your friends? Pick the warm fuzzy ones that make YOU feel good? What about the rest of us? No two people will have the same set of values. Enter the gogofactor – fair for everyone!
Plus, IGG makes less money on successful projects with flex funding and ZERO on failed fixed-funded projects; so your closing statement. “…to help those who need more and get yourselves more,” is just plain wrong.
I could see having a special “underdog of the week” type promo.” but really again who picks it? Seems to cater to favoritism but it could be cool.
I’m just getting started in music so I don’t have a fanbase yet. Any ideas how to get my gogofactor up without that.
Here is my project: http://igg.me/at/cotremixed
Your article shows tells me you must have a lot of background in this topic. Can you direct me to other articles about this? I will recommend this article to my friends as well. Thanks.
