DIY DAYS NYC - How This Conference Was Saved by a Quick IndieGoGo Campaign

WeilerheadshotLance Weiler - DIY afficionado - knows a thing or two about disruption, change, innovation... and making money on his own terms.

He is not only famous for grossing over $5 million on a film he made for $900; but he's also put a stamp in history for rejecting a book deal in exchange for giving his DIY expertise away for free - a move that has broadened his impact exponentially.

So when this digital pioneer lost his sponsor last minute for his latest entrepreneurial endeavor - DIY DAYS: a free roving conference for creative entrepreneurs - it's no surprise he jumped on IndieGoGo to raise the money.  In his own words...

"Three weeks before my NYC event for DIY DAYS, I lost my sponsor.  So I immediately turned to IndieGoGo.  36 hours and $3,000 later, I had closed my funding gap - all by offering perks to my community.  I’ve since raised an additional $1,625 from folks who simply wanted to be part of my collaborative funding campaign.” - Lance Weiler, Creator of DIY DAYS

DIYDAYS

From a limited edition poster to consulting time with the DIY guru himself - Lance offered cool perks, rallied his followers and raised the money from the people who wanted to the conference to succeed.  What a fun way to involve the people who will benefit the most!
