I also participated on a panel: Financing Independent Film. I enjoyed discussing how fan funding and audience-building are becoming increasingly important as traditional financing sources are tightening their wallets and looking to reduce their risk with market-proven properties.

As I mentioned on the panel, there's little that's more valuable than an embedded audience... especially when it comes time to attract distributors or launch a self-distribution effort if distribution offers are unattractive or don't appear.
