Introducing RSS Feeds for Every Profile! |
Fans can now follow profile Announcements via RSS on IndieGoGo.
(What is RSS? See video below.)
Announcements are a great way to keep you and/or your project top of
mind. Consistent engagement builds loyalty and is the groundwork for
authentic, grassroots marketing.
Two Ways To Get Announcements: Email & RSS (NEW!)
Each time you make an Announcement on your project, individual or
organization profile, your followers (those who have contributed, followed, or commented on your profile) get notified via email or now RSS!
To receive Announcements via RSS, fans can simply "Subscribe to your Announcements" by clicking on the RSS icon in the ANNOUNCEMENTS section of WHAT'S NEW window.
Reminder: Great reasons for Announcements include:
- Awards
- Press
- New/fresh content on your profile (e.g. trailer, rough footage, bloopers, video blog, etc.)
- Casting calls & announcements
- Progress updates
- Festival acceptances
- Fundraising/Promotion Calls to Action. For example:
- "Share my project on Facebook/MySpace" using IndieGoGo's new Facebook/MySpace buttons in the PROMOTE section or
- "Invite your email contacts to check out my project" using the new Gmail/Hotmail/Yahoo Email Invite Tool.
Let Your Fans Know about RSS!
To let your fans know they can Subscribe to your Announcements via RSS, post an Announcement informing them of such. Here's a sample Announcement:

This was a very, very smart move for IndieGoGo! The RSS feed has made it much easier for me to keep tabs on the films I'm really into.
