Kyle Gehring was born on February 9, 1987 and was raised in the town of Bremerton, WA. From an early age, he displayed much prowess in the area of writing and music, winning several awards for his gifts throughout his youth. By the time he was fifteen, he had already written countless stories and engaged in numerous musical endeavors.
It was at the age of 18 that he started taking a notable interest in film. Deciding to jump right in without any education on the subject, he immediately made a feature film at 19 years old and hit the festival circuit. Months later, he started production on the award-winning documentary “Thumbs Up!”
Several productions later, Kyle Gehring decided to enroll at the Zaki Gordon Institute for Independent Filmmaking in Sedona, AZ to further his knowledge of filmmaking. His thesis film “Inquisition” was nominated for the Audience Choice Award, Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor, Best Sound Design/Music, Best Production Design, and won Best Cinematography at the school’s end of the year film festival. “Inquisition” was recently accepted to the 2009 Indie Gathering in Cleveland, OH (one of Movie Maker Magazine’s top 25 festivals) and is currently awaiting acceptance for several others.
