April Dene is a filmmaker, feature writer, copywriter, and college instructor based in Charlotte, NC. Currently, shes a regular contributor to The Charlotte Observer, a copywriter and blogger for local and regional businesses and design firms, and the leader of a monthly script reading and critique workshop. April also writes, directs, and performs for stage, including a recent Metrolina Theatre Association award for Outstanding Supporting Actress.
As a filmmaker, April has the nose for a good story, confidence to approach documentary subjects, research experience to know what questions to ask and how to get answers, organizational skills to plan and execute large-scale projects, and storytelling ability to find the most compelling narrative threads and character arcs. She holds an MA in English and a BA in Psychology.
