Project Summary:
Told in real-time, and shot with multiple cameras all filming one long continuous take, “You Are Here” is the in-the-moment story of a young man who wakes up in a small pool of his own blood. With a massive head injury and strange recurring flashbacks and hallucinations, he meanders a desolate downtown landscape looking for his own identity and possibly his home. He encounters several unusual and mysterious characters along the way, who seem to have their own secret agendas regarding him. Finally, with the help of a kind old homeless man, he finds what seems to be his residence. The only thing is that when he walks in, dead bodies and human body parts litter the floor, and a once-beautiful young woman is bound to a metal chair, and only barely alive. As she gurgles blood and makes noises, his pounding head hurts more and more.
A suspenseful and visual feast, “You Are Here”, ends with a major twist, and a very creepy one-two punch in the brain. This is entertainment at its most original and hopefully thought-provoking. The film will have an A-List genre cast, and be filmed with state of the art equipment.
The director and producer, Ramzi Abed, has directed and/or produced nearly a dozen films, including his own directorial feature films, “The Devil’s Muse” and “In A Spiral State”, which were both distributed very widely all over the world through renowned arthouse genre distributor, Halo 8 Entertainment. His next films, including the groundbreaking and provocative documentary, “The New Erotic”, which will be released theatrically and on dvd in late June 2010 by Halo 8 Entertainment, along with the film, “Noirland”, which stars James Duval, Rena Riffel, Ford Austin, Clint Catalyst, Lenora Claire, Elissa Dowling, Wendy McColm, and Lloyd Kaufman (to name a few). “Noirland” is currently filming in Los Angeles. Another new film, “Telephone World”, which Ramzi Abed also directed, stars Elissa Dowling, Chandler Maness, and Kara Hyatt, and is currently in post-production, and set to premiere in the summer of 2010.
