THE X-RATED GRANDMA is a feature film compilation of 7 shorts of a 60-something woman in a small Southern ghost town. Filmmaker Jack Truman returns back home, and over a 2 year period, filmed a series of 7 shorts of his real-life Mother, Opal, a former stripper. Some documentary, some mockumentary, the audience is left to decide…which is real? Which is not? Nothing is as it seems….

I am making THE X-RATED GRANDMA for one reason: to open people’s eyes. Most of the time people are nothing like you think they are. And people are afraid of truth. They are afraid to open their eyes, and see how things really are.

My Mother, Opal was a stripper for over 20 years. As a child, I grew up in a very different environment. And today, 40 years later, when people look at Opal, she is nothing like she seems.

I hope by sharing this film with others, people’s eyes will be opened to truths they are afraid to see. I hope this film shocks people, makes them think, talk and appreciate how different all of us really are. That’s what makes this world so great…that all of us are free to be different.
