Synopsis:

Our Story

Words Like Knives is a dark, discomforting, and surreal psychological horror film that focuses on our main character's inner turmoil as she tries to dismiss horrendous rumors that are being spread about her and the frightening examination that follows. The short film is written by and stars Kelsey Zukowski. The film is directed by Travis Legge and long time collaborator, Tim Stotz, as the Director of Photography on the film. Words Like Knives also features Jeff Scaduto, Valerie Meachum, Myke Wilson, Melissa Revels, and Aley Kreinz, all of whom Legge has worked with before; enabling him to identify their strengths and bring them out. All the individuals who are part of this film are extremely talented individuals who are passionate about independent film. We love what we do and we want to use that love to create a compelling and chilling film that can really resonate with its audience. 

The Impact

Words Like Knives has many compelling themes and real world issues including the effects of bullying and many brands of abuse. We've used the film to show these things at their darkest; painting a picture of how dehumanizing they can be. We believe in film making and specifically horror with creativity and reason. It's a difficult examination, but one that is sure to make an effect on viewers. 

What We Need & What You Get

We will use any funds raised for transportation and food costs for the cast and crew. It will be used towards needed props and special effects. Although, it is not overly gory, there are necessary effects that will require proper funding. Given the material we want to make sure not an ounce of realism is sacrificed.
