Women and Men and Women

Because you can't be misogynistic when you're being ironic. Right?

Our Story

We are a group of young creative-types living in Los Angeles, CA.  Some of us grew up together, some of us went to college together, and we all want to tell the story of "Women and Men and Women" to the best of our abilities.

Like so many people today, we wish we could bring you a product using only our enthusiasm, know how, and vision.  There is, however, one additional element that we need to bring this project to life - your support.

The Impact

With your generous support, we will be able to make our short film.  And when you contribute, it becomes your short film as well.  Our budget is entirely dependent upon your generosity, and we appreciate anything you can give.   Beautifully professional looking films can be made for a lot less money than in the past, and you can be a big part of proving it.

What We Need & What You Get

We do not need much, but what we do need will go toward some of these fun and glamourous elements of film making:

-Food for our cast and crew.  The people putting this project together will be donating their time, so we figure the least we can do is keep them from starving.  Just $15 will keep one of our actors or crew-members fed and caffeinated for an entire day.

-Make Up and Wardrobe.  Luckily, we are not making Gone with the Wind.  Even so, each of our characters has a specific style that will help showcase his or her personality in the film.  We will be doing much of our shopping for clothing at thrift stores to maximize the value of your contributions.  $25 will be enough to create a whole costume.  Our make up artist will be constantly making sure that our actors are camera ready.  The cost of all that foundation, cover-up, blush, and all that other good stuff adds up.  $30 will help reimburse our make-up artist for the cost of keeping our actors beautiful.

-Renting Sound Equipment.  Sound is a tricky element.  Wind, airplanes, excitable neighbors (and their dogs), and anything else you can think of, heavily interferes with sound simply captured by a camera.  Fortunately, microphones can be easily hidden on our actors, and fed directly into on-sight mixing equipment.  $50 will help us create studio-quality sound during a day on location.

-Renting Lighting Equipment.  You would be surprised how little lighting you have ever seen in a film has been left to chance. While our lighting schemes will not be too complicated, they will still require some pretty strong studio lighting, and rigs to hold everything in place.  For $100, you will be shining light on our locations for one day of shooting.

Other expenses will include permits (far more costly than you would think), securing locations, and dressing our sets with decor to match the script.

Other Ways You Can Help

Spread the word!  Forward the link!  Post on Facebook! E-mail the office!  E-mail the school!  E-mail the neighbors!

We cannot thank you enough for any contribution you would be generous enough to give.  If you cannot help us financially, we still appreciate the time you took to come check us out.  Spread the word if you like what you see here, so that there will be a lot more to see very soon.

Cheers.
