When Clouds Clear is an award winning feature-length documentary that delves into one remote Ecuadorian communitys radical resistance to a proposed copper mine that would level and destroy their way of life forever. As two invading mining companies become increasingly brazen in their attempts to infiltrate and control the area, the community unite in order to survive. Still, some citizens side with the wealth that the companies promise, causing irreparable divisions, pitting friend against friend and father against son. Suddenly these once-peaceful farmers find themselves thrust into a dangerous world of corruption, splintered households, murder and arson as they fight tenaciously to protect their land and families.

After evaluating the interests and needs of the community with the different grassroots organizations, associations and groups from the Intag zone, important community leaders and the students, weve decided to implement an Educational Fund that will start working with the design and construction of an integral farm for organic agriculture. This farm will be managed by the Student Association from the Intag Zone (Asociacin Estudiantil Agroartesanal Zona de Intag) and will provide a learning space for students for the communities of Junn, Chalguayaco Bajo, Chalguayaco Alto, Magnolia, and la Armenia. Formal education will be combined with alternative education. Theory and practice will be put together to rescue local knowledge and relevant skills to daily life. The farm-school will work as a lab that will allow every family to apply and proof agro-ecological farming experiences.

The first stage of the alternative education program starts with the participative design and construction of the farm-school with local materials. A second stage will be starting the farm cycle through managing organic pesticides. Parallel to this, growing greens, and a medicinal garden is very important to improve the nutrition and health of the communities.

We want a more accessible and relevant education. We want a sustainable education to empower autonomic processes, managed directly by the communities. To achieve these dreams, we need all the help we can get, and your help is very important for us.
