Welcome to Daytrotter is a documentary film exploring how one of the leading tastemakers in indie music was created in an unexpected Midwestern town. The idea: Invite touring musicians to stop in to a little studio in Rock Island, Illinois and record a few tracks, which would then be given away free on the website. Four years and 1000 sessions later, artists from Death Cab for Cutie to Carly Simon have recorded Daytrotter Sessions. This is the story of the guys who brought the music industry to them.
