Who are we?

WE LOVE DOCUMENTARY is a nationwide grassroots campaign to celebrate the popularity, appetite for and long tradition of documentary in Canada. The campaign is supported by the Documentary Organization of Canada (DOC), Canadas largest documentary community.

What's our mission?

To significantly raise the profile of documentary films and filmmakers by publicly promoting awareness, support and viewership of Canadian and international documentary films across Canada and the world.

Why are we campaigning?

Documentary production has dropped to its lowest level in over six years. Added to that is the impact of a continuing decline in documentary funding in Canada and the lack of workable new financing and distribution models. Thousands of filmmakers are being forced to change careers or are unemployed in what used to be a thriving and productive sector. Find out more at www.docorg.ca/en/broadcasting.

What's our goal?

We want to provide a forum for the Canadian public to celebrate documentary and by doing so to call for its renewed support. People from all walks of life from well-known public figures to the average television and internet user are being invited to participate in this movement.

Donation information:

Your donation via PayPal or credit card will be made to DOC, in the name of We Love Documentary, minus a transaction service fee (2-3%) and:

-a 4% fee from Indiegogo if we reach our fundraising target

-a 9% fee from Indiegogo if we dont reach our fundraising target

 DOC is a registered non-profit organization in Canada. DOC does not hold 5013 registration status in the US. This means that there is no guarantee your donation will be tax deductible. If you are interested in finding out more about donations made to DOC, please contact DOC at info@docorg.ca
