Help Us Publish A. E. Waite's "Second Tarot" Images
After extensive research, we are in a position to publish beautiful and evocative images commissioned by A. E. Waite between 1917-23 towards a second set of Tarot illustrations - but we need your help.
With your assistance we can publish a book of Tarot images which were designed by Waite a decade after his work with Pamela Colman Smith on what is now the most "popular" Tarot deck in the world - images that have been rarely seen outside a few private collectors or followers of Waite's work.
We have access & licensing agreement in principle to publish original illustrations by J. B. Trinick towards the 22 Major Arcana and one additional "path" image, and extra variant designs and sketches. We would like to include as many of them as possible in a book publication.
There are costs for high quality photography and licensing. This comes to approximately 150 GBP per image (about $250 USD).
The Book
With your help, we can publish a book of high quality images, relatively quickly, prior to December 31st 2011. At present a set of cards is not possible (due to additional laminating and production costs and a higher licensing fee) so we plan on reproducing the images with explanatory text and our additional research into the lives of J. B. Trinick and others involved in the production of these glorious Tarot illustrations.
Any funding above the target will be set towards a possible later publication of a b&w deck of 22 cards.
What We Need
We need $15,000 funding to purchase high quality photography of b&w and colour sketches/originals and to cover the licensing fee which has been agreed to publish the images. The more funding we raise, the more images we can publish in the book.
We will then publish the book for sale, in softback and hardback versions, for approx. 28 softcover, 35 hardback to cover the additional printing costs. The book will be 8"x10" and include full and half-page photographs of the images in b&w and colour.
In return for your contribution, which will also ensure these images are made available to future researchers, we will include your name in a Supporters Roll at the end of the book. For the next level of contributions from $100 we are providing an exclusive course on the images and their meaning in terms of Kabbalah, with a unique spread and much more. If you are able to contribute $500 upwards Marcus Katz will personally work with you with these images to map your spiritual/esoteric state, challenges and opportunities.
Anyone who donates $1000 or upwards will be named on a Special Sponsors Roll at the start of the book, given a place on Marcus's one-year private "Apprenticeship" program in Western Esotericism (should they wish) and signed copies of all Marcus &Tali's present and future books.

2. As with any publishing project, this production is being carried out under best endeavours, and will be subject to inevitable issues of scheduling and ever-incomplete research. Some images are degraded as would be expected of their age however the majority are in generally good quality. Your contribution is welcome in good faith and should serious or critical problems arise in the project we would aim to refund your money minus fees (see point 4).
3. We will publish as a 'current state of knowledge' and fully expect further research and discoveries to follow.
4. Please note that Indigogo will take 9% of your contribution to the project, if we do not meet the full target, and 4% if we do. We have set our target accordingly, to the budget expected and realistic hope that we will meet it. Paypal will also take a further 4% of the fee however Paypal contributions are sent directly and will allow us to start the photography once half the funds have been raised.
