BREAKING NEWS.......in addition to the amount appearing on this site, and the $2,655 from phase-one, we've had pledged this week an additional $3,700 sent direct to the film. Which means we've raised over $8,000. with nine days to go...
Welcome! to phase-two production funding for WHAT? or A ROAD TRIP TO EUROPE a comedy/drama with a social heart.
Weve just successfully reached our first milestone and raised $2,655 towards our film budget. This enabled us to start casting and assembling a first rate film crew. We need now to fund our film shoot by raising $18,550
For most of us, our favorite films are the ones that make us smile. That is exactly what WHAT? or A ROAD TRIP TO EUROPE is intended to do. It will be a high production value ten-minute drama aimed at International Film Festivals.
The film appears to be set in Europe during the 1930s where Hymie and his family journey along a mountainous Alpine road where they encounter a lone Border Guard. A tale bristling with humor that hides an unspoken threat. Our story uses stereotypes against stereotyping to address a serious contemporary concern with a light touch.
The road trip title in this film is a metaphor for a modern world situation. See Gallery Directors Statement for more on this.
So, WHAT? or A ROAD TRIP TO EUROPE was born, a humorous tale intended to provoke discussion.
On the basis of the screenplay weve already started to attract a first rate team of actors and crew drawn from feature film and theatre production. Were looking for supporters for this project people who can either spread the word through their social networks or who can make a financial contribution or both. You can make a contribution from anywhere in the world.
Weve also added a new kind of donor perks for businesses. If youre a business and want to enjoy the benefits of film sponsorship scroll to the bottom of the perks list displayed on the right-hand side of this screen.
All the of the money raised in this phase will be to shoot the film including location, travel, production and the four key areas listed below. When deciding on your level of donation you may wish to consider supporting an area of production that matches your own interest. Here are our four key areas:
1. Actors $2,500 will cover the costs associated with the cast.
2. Crew $5,000 will provide our New Mexico Crew.
3. Design $3,000 will fund design aspects of the film.
4. Equipment $3,500 will enable us to hire the equipment to create the film.
If Spanish is your is your mother tongue, one of the reasons for raising donations is to help us to produce a Spanish subtitled version of the final film.
