Our Story
In summer 2012, Heart Like War, a punk rock band based out of Santa Clarita CA, will travel to Seattle Washington to record their debut album: The Party Propaganda Machine. Band leader David Camarena has already teamed up with 18 year old Director/Producer AJ Martinson, a young visionary with a track record of producing excellent short form video projects with zero budget and with zero overhead (work can be found at martinsoniii.blogspot.com). They plan on filming the video in late July early August.
The video they are planning is unique: What if a band took over a night club. In purgatory. To properly execute this, a budget is needed to design the sets, provide food for the extras, and pay any additional crew necessary.
The Impact
If funds aren't raised for Wake Up Kid, the music video will not reach it's full potential. In order for this video to be memorable, the set needs to look authentic. Without the proper funding the crew simply cannot create the ambiance the video calls for.
What We Need & What You Get
We are looking to raise approximately $2000 through multiple campaigns across a variety of crowd-funding sources over the course of the next 7 months.
For this current campaign we need $500 to
- Afford a JL Fisher Model 10 dolly. They rent for approximately $163.13 a day. We need one dolly for at least 48 hours. This will allow the music video to look and feel professional, providing smooth and dynamic camera moves rather than just someone holding a camera infront of band.
- Purchase the wood necessary to build the set. Luan board is expensive! We need 5 8x4 pieces of luan board to build the bar in the back of the club.
- Any additional money raised will go to A. Insurance costs for gear rental or B. providing food for the extras.
Other Ways You Can Help
If you know of/can donate Luan board or 1x3's it would greatly reduce our budget. Also, just spreading the word about Heart Like War and their fantastic music is also helpful.
