Vinyl – the Trans-Atlantic indie shot in five days in New York City, is setting up to release in the UK.

Starring Tom Sawyer (Little Death, Icharus Broken), Luis M. Echegaray (Mutant Chronicles) and Gillian Leigh Visco, this is the heartfelt breakout film by award winning second-time feature film writer & director Tom Wilton (Icharus Broken).

Vinyl is a boy meets girl story – problem is, she’s already with his best friend.

When Tom flies into New York, he is really looking for a way to drop out of society. Arriving on his estranged best friend Luis’s doorstep, it soon becomes obvious that these guys are at polar opposites in their lives.

Luis is engaged to Marta, and whilst, on the surface they’re a normal couple, beneath the veneer are some deep issues, still unresolved. Her frosty reception of Tom makes an awkward situation for all involved. But when Luis has to go away for the weekend and Marta’s plans fall through, it opens an opportunity for Tom and Marta to get to know each other better.

Over the course of one night, Tom and Marta hang out all over the city that never sleeps, trying to make sense of themselves whilst also trying not to fall in love.

This raw, lo-fi film falls somewhere between Before Sunrise and Lost in Translation. Featuring stunning performances from the main leads and a jaw-dropping soundtrack provided from Gillian Visco herself, this is shaping up to be the hit that nobody saw coming.

Vinyl is set to play London’s Portobello Film Festival in September, with a view to releasing the film theatrically and on DVD, cable and online in the Fall/Autumn. What we are looking for is small investments to finance the release independently, so as to retain creative control and influence over the market.
