Our Story
As a 1960's influenced pop band in Chicago, we've been
lost in the shadows of the indie rock scene that dominates the city. We've
driven across the US to enthusiastically share our music to anyone who would
listen, and now have the opportunity to play for our fans in the UK at the
Indietracks Festival. Our fans in
the UK have been so dear to us, through nice words on blogs and by playing our
tracks in nightclubs. We would love the opportunity to meet them and share with
them our "love letter to a sound."
The Impact
Everything we do as a band is out of our own pocket and
from whatever money we can get from playing gigs. Since we started in 2008, we
funded two east coast tours to appear at the 2009 and 2010 New York City
Popfest festivals, a trip to Athens, GA to play Athens Popfest 2010, and most
recently, a southern tour to play at SXSW 2011. Our first record, Things You
Used to Say was recorded by ourselves in apartments and basements, and the
mastering of that record was paid by the funds of two years of gigs.
Very Truly Yours is one of few American bands selected
to play Indietracks, an international pop festival based in the Derbyshire coutryside. This is an opportunity like
none other. If we were to raise our goal, it would healthily allow us to
purchase five plane tickets to London. Tickets are now $1250 USD. We are
already planning to deplete our small nest egg that we have been saving for our new
record in exchange for expenses like food, instrument rentals and lodging in hostels.
We have already booked some gigs, and are working on others
that are not finalized yet.

Every member of Very Truly Yours is enthusiastic about
sharing our music with others, and is very appreciative of the support we
receive. If we dont make our goal, we will not be able to afford to
travel to the UK as a full band, so your help is much appreciated!
What We Need & What You Get
We are seeking to raise $5000 for plane tickets to London
from Chicago. There are five
members in Very Truly Yours, and tickets as of 3/22/11 are $1250 USD each,
excluding fees. In raising $5,000, we will be able to pay for a significant portion of the
ticket fares. If we receive more, that would be wonderful. But for now, we are planning to host a
fundraiser in June to help pay for costs.
