Smoking is so yesterday!

But the culture that gave rise to smoking a hundred years ago is still here. Hot, hip, happening night clubs and entertainment arenas are still filled with people who used to smoke or are trying to quit. Going to these venues makes people want to smoke a cigarette.

But in the last decade, smoking has been banned from almost all public venues and we all know how bad it is for everyone.

What to do...

Along came the electronic cigarette. A star was born.

Now people can get their nicotine fix and feed their cultural attraction to the idea of smoking without actually lighting up.

And now, three years later, the manufacturers have increased their quality and the trend is catching on. Smokers all over the world are discovering that the easiest, most effective, least stressful way to quit is to go electric and reduce the nicotine from there.

With an electronic cigarette, the now-former-smoker can vape all day long, whenever and wherever. Once the nicotine is reduced to nothing, he or she can continue to enjoy the act of smoking with an eCigarette, in any of a number of flavors.

We're running on a shoestring budget at the moment, but with a little help, we can get going full steam ahead.

The Impact

• Cigarette smoking has been identified as the most important source of preventable morbidity and premature mortality in the United States and the world.
• Smoking-related diseases cause an estimated 440,000 American deaths each year.
• Smoking costs the United States over $150 billion annually in health care costs.
• A 2004 Study by the CDC's National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion found that cigarette smoke contains over 4,800 chemicals, 69 of which are known to cause cancer.

Vape Gourmet provides a less dangerous alternative to smoking.  Electronic Cigarettes have many advantages:

• No Smoke! Electronic Cigarettes do not burn anything.  They work like a theatrical fog machine by vaporizing a mixture of food grade flavorings, and nicotine in a base that contains just water and either propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, or both.  This means there is no fire hazard and no risk of secondhand smoke.
• No Tar! The liquid vaporized by electronic cigarettes only contains a handful of ingredients.  Tar, the leading component in cigarette smoke that causes lung damage is NOT among them.  Cigarette smoke contains over  4,800 chemicals, including 69 known cancer-causing (carcinogenic) compounds and 400 other toxins. These include nicotine, tar, and carbon monoxide, as well as formaldehyde, ammonia, hydrogen cyanide, arsenic, and DDT.  Of these harmful substances, only nicotine is present in electronic cigarettes.
  
• No Butts! The parts of an electronic cigarette are re-usable to a large extent.  When they finally do fail, they are recyclable.  There are no nasty butts to worry about.
• All Flavor! With electronic cigarettes, the user can enjoy a large variety of flavors or even unflavored vapor.  As the liquid is flavored with natural and/or artificial food flavorings, the possibilities are virtually endless.
• Saving Lives! E-cigarettes may save 5.3 million people who would otherwise die from smoking-related illnesses in the next 20 years, said Joel Nitzkin, former chairman of the Green Cove Springs, Florida-based American Association of Public Health Physicians tobacco control task force.

The Vape Gourmet Difference is not in the product so much as how we plan to market the product.  We plan to carry a small selection of the best, most popular electronic cigarettes and accessories.  The big difference is that we hope to get them to be available to anyone, at any time, by wholesaling them to every place that currently sells regular cigarettes.

The biggest reason that electronic cigarettes haven't really caught on is that you usually have to order them online or visit a specialty shop to find them.  The problem with this is that when something runs out or goes wrong, the users go right back to regular cigarettes because they're right around the cornet at the local convenience store.

Vape Gourmet plans to market directly to ALL stores that carry tobacco products in order to offer this less dangerous alternative to all current smokers.  By doing so, we hope to move more tobacco users to electronic cigarettes and thereby significantly reduce the impact on health.  This saves us all money in reducing insurance rates, medical costs, and makes life better for everyone.

What We Need & What You Get

In order to start wholesaling our products to every place that currently sells tobacco products, we need products to sell them. 

We've located 5 manufacturers of electronic cigarettes. 

The next step is to place one or more orders with them to get the products to us to sell.  Thanks to the remarkable unreliability of the ones we've so far dealt with, "Just-in-time" inventory is just not feasible.  We need to stock a small warehouse here in the United States.

This drive is for our INITIAL funding to place our first order.  We hope to be able to bootstrap the company from this initial capital.  If we can't raise enough for a first order, we'll run a second drive and keep pushing.  If this happens, much of the first round will have to go to pay for the office space we need to keep pushing.  We really hope that won't happen.

If we raise:

Under $1000 - The money will go towards continuing our fund raising and awareness campaigns.  We'll keep the web site going and continue to try and raise the capital we need to launch.

$1000 to $5000 - We'll continue seeking funding while also purchasing more samples to show to potential distributors and sell to those who have approached us.

$5000 to $8000 - With this much we might be able to put in an initial order for un-branded stock.  While not what we want in terms of our marketing plan, this will be enough to get us running on a smaller scale.  

Over $8000 - With this amount of capital, we can purchase an order of branded stock to begin to push our products out to the general public.  Our goal is to move electronic cigarettes from the specialty market to their rightful place along side tobacco products in stores everywhere!

Who We Are

Vape Gourmet is a NH General Partnership, founded in 2010 by Brian Chabot and Johnnie Peebles, Jr.  Our goal is to help the world by reducing smoking in a one-two punch.  To smokers, we offer products which will be less dangerous and more convenient.  To non-smokers, we reduce the amount of smoke they run into on a daily basis.  This way, we hope to make everyone happier and healthier.  

Brian Chabot is an entrepreneur who has run his web design and computer repair company, Just Works in Nashua, NH for just over three years.  He tried electronic cigarettes in response to the US banning clove cigarettes and has been extremely happy with the results.  His lungs have improved and he is happy with the wide selection of flavors.  He is so happy in fact, that he teamed up with his friend, Johnnie Peebles, Jr. to form Vape Gourmet to try to market these devices to the public at large.

Johnnie Peebles, Jr. is an unlikely business partner to Brian Chabot.  Originally a customer at Just Works, Johnnie and Brian quickly became friends and found they had similar views on how to run a business.  Johnnie comes from a background promoting gospel and jazz artists in NH, NY, and Detroit.  His keen eye for what the public at large wants is a valuable asset to Vape Gourmet.
