5 dollars goes a long way.
Women In Film & Television Vancouver is an internationally affiliated non-profit society committed to advancing the artistic and professional development of women in the screen based media industry. It is completely run by a volunteer Board of Directors, who, each year, work to bring you events such as the Vancouver Women In Film Festival (VWIFF), workshops, and networking events.
These events would not be possible without the support of corporate sponsors, attendees, and donors.
The 6th Annual VWIFF is coming to the Vancity Theatre at the Vancouver International Film Centre March 4th - 8th 2011. The festival will showcase an impressive line-up of short and feature films (narrative, documentary & animation) by established and emerging talent, champions, and marginalized artists including aboriginal, visible minority and lesbian filmmakers.
Kicking off with an Opening Night Film & Reception, this years program will be packed with Pitch Sessions, the resurgence of the Digital Media Forum, panel discussions, Talk Back sessions with Directors, and an Industry Showcase, all culminating with a special International screening in celebration of International Women's Day. We don't want Vancouver to miss out on VWIFF 2011, so we need your support.
Currently, women make up only 32% of the labour force in the film and television industry, with far lower numbers for key, above the line roles. WIFTV aims to equal the playing field and you can support this valuable work by sponsoring the Vancouver Women In Film Festival 2011.
We only need 200 people to donate the cost of a coffee.
If you donate $10 or more, we're happy to give you recognition as a donor, among other festival perks - or you can choose to remain anonymous.
Thank you all for your support for this year's festival!
