Nelson, a 32 year old instruction manual writer, is having trouble asking out Sophie, a 30 year old used bookstore clerk. Through seemingly random circumstances Nelson ends up meeting a 28 year old, eccentric, astrology loving girl named Trish and going on a few adventures with her where he learns that its OK to fight for himself once in a while. When Nelson and Trish go to the local coffee house they accidently run into Sophie. In a normal circumstance this would be great for Nelson, but with Trish basically wrapped around his arm its making the situation awkward. When Nelson and Trish get back to his place they have an argument about the situation which reveals that Trish meeting Nelson was no accident at all and that she planned on meeting him from the very beginning. Just as it looks like Nelson is about to give into Trish’s last attempt at having him, he breaks it off and runs back to the bookstore to ask out Sophie.
