Our Story

In December, James Kyson Lee, the star of NBC's hit show "Heroes" is bringing his talents to the Bay Area for a short film project written and directed by a Bay Area native, Henry J.  Kim, creator of No Rest for the Wicked.

This short film is a prelude to the full-length feature (of a different title), which will also star Jame Kyson as the lead and will be San Francisco's first joint production with South Korea, as the film will be shot in SF and Seoul, and parts of Hong Kong.

The Director Henry J. Kim is known for No rest for the Wicked and is co-founder of Empty Kingdom, one of the leading Media Arts sites on the internet.

The Impact

The impact of this project is huge and at a crucial stage of the development for our feature.  This project is not only a short meant for festivals but a sample of our abilities that investors will examine during our push into making our full-length feature.  This is important because the goal of our feature film is to help bridge the gap between Asian Americans and Asian audiences.  As Asian Americans, we have been influenced by the films from Asia, but there has not been much of a presence or awareness of Asian Americans for countries such as Korea, China, Japan, and others.  We hope that making a co-production starring both Asian American stars (such as James Kyson) and stars from Asia, we hope to be a part of establishing a global filmmaking community that is without borders.

What We Need & What You Get

The money raised will go directly to crew, food, and other essentials.  The "above the line" talent, (such as the director, producer, and James Kyson himself) are all working for free out of faith in the project.  (James has even paid for his own plane ticket down, if that doesn't show you his love/commitment then we don't know what does)  Since this project is a teaser to the full-length film with a lot of potential, the crew are donating their time and efforts; it is very important to us that we take care of them and provide adequate coverage of their food and expenses.  The final funds will also help pay for the rental of equipment.  Henry J. Kim has been proven to make the most out of every dollar on his productions, as No Rest for the Wicked was a low-budget action film with a big-budget look.  It was described by the Korea Daily as "a film whose quality was equal to any big budget Hollywood film."

Other Ways You Can Help

You can help us by given us a shout out on your blog, Facebook, and telling you friends. Word of mouth is very important, but must be done quickly as the production date is already near!  Also, we can take donations of meals or props and other services we might need during the shoot.  Please check the website for more details.
