Our Story

 Troubled Waters will give a voice and raise awareness for the millions who suffer from not having access to clean drinking water. We have been filming this project for the last five years and poured our heart and soul into filming it.

Right now, we need help to finish our project. Help us give them a voice by helping us finish this film. We need the funds to cover phase one of post production. 

The Impact

This campaign will have a real world impact by creating a film that gives people who are suffering a voice. It will be used to raise awareness about the problem of not having access to clean drinking water. We plan on screening this film for politicians and community activist in order to spur them into action and find solutions for the millions who are suffering everyday. 

Our campaign will give us enough money to finish the rough cut of our film. If we have a rough cut we are only steps away from finishing. It will allow us to find more funding, apply for other grants, and thus finish our film. We need your help to finish this film and give people a voice. 

What We Need & What You Get

We need $10,000 to cover costs for post production. All donations are 100% tax deductable. It will take 4 weeks to cut together the rough cut of Troubled Waters. In order to pay the editor, cover travel costs, and expenses such as DVD's, hard drives, and other items we need your help. Most of the money will go towards labor costs. If you support this film every dollar will go into finishing it and it's tax deductable. Depending on your level of support you will get to be involved with the screenings, distribution, and have an inside look at our film. 

By joining us you are becoming part of our team and helping give a voice to the millions who suffer from a lack of access to clean drinking water worldwide. We began the film with a generous donation of $10,000 seed money from a fan of the film. The director and his wife have put over $10,000 of their own personal money into the film.  We have done fundraising campaigns and received over $600 from various friends and organizations. The production company producing the film, Billy Hill Productions, has also put over $4,000 of revenue from other video projects into the production of Troubled Waters. 

We are looking for nonprofit sponsors and companies to further sponsor the film through grants and direct involvement. It is important we raise the money for our rough cut first in order to apply for finishing/distribution funds with organizations like The Sundance Film Institute, Cine-Reach, and Others.
