Poetry, art and art films are like bread to the hungry. They give us the hope and courage to rise to our greatest deeds and act as conscience when we do not rise. We are not only creating a film but a gathering point for conversations that create community to last longer than any art.
Help us produce To the Diggers, the second in a collection of four short art films to be shown in a new kind of exhibition. Based upon a poem Mark Turner wrote in 2006, To the Diggers asks whether the sights and sounds of public relations will survive to be dug up by future archeologists. This is Film 2 of the FilmGalleryColxn, four short films merging tangible artwork with digital treatment, spoken word with music and sound effects, all in a motion graphics presentation which inspires you to talk about the philosophical and spiritual aspects of life.
When the collection of films is completed the premiere of the films will be a pilot event to test the new exhibition idea, the film-gallery-caf. The projected time of the pilot event is Spring, 2011. The test event will teach us about opening a permanent venue where art films and the artwork used to make them stimulate significant conversations encouraging people on their journeys toward God. Until then each finished film will help build the support base which will make the premiere a big success and launch development of the film-gallery-caf.

Background on the Artists:
For some 40 years we, Mark & Donna Turner, have inspired people on five continents through our films, theater and teaching. We founded and still direct Horizon Gate Productions, a 30 year old non-profit arts organization (501c)3). Our career has been dependent upon donations from supporters and in this way we successfully raised a family amid all our art projects and travels. Lately the economy has taken its toll on donors’ ability to give. We must broaden our community to include you and your friends. Please join in helping spread the word about this campaign so we can accomplish the next step in our mission to inspire people.

Funds Needed:
The first 10 people to contribute $10 or more will be listed in the credits of the film as “First Funders”.
You can help make this art film, To the Diggers, by sponsoring the poem, sound effects, music, voice, drawings, motion graphics, or release party. Your contributions will help cover our living expenses for about two months, upgrade computers, purchase art materials and purchase an external hard drive to store all the new digital files.
All donations are tax deductible and will be administered through Horizon Gate Productions, a 501c)3, non-profit organization. Background on the Larger Project:
The FilmGalleryColxn is the first wave of a campaign to inspire lots of people. We are producing four art films which will be the core of a growing collection representing many artists exhibited in a film-gallery-caf. We dream of people sitting among the films and the art used to make them being inspired to have life-giving conversations. The first art film, Comforting Hovers ( http://www.horizongate.org/products/comfortingh... ), is produced and the remaining three are at various stages of development. Each film is another phase building to the final phase: the premiere of the collection in a pilot venue testing our film-gallery-caf concept. Each phase is another opportunity for you to participate in the funding and to recruit other supporters.
