Our Story

We are a team of Independent Documentary Film makers who are passionate about the power of film and theatre to inspire, move, educate and initiating positive social change. Yes, there are still people who would like to change the world... gently of course!

Latin America is a continent that has been tussled and torn by political unrest, poverty, lack of education and violence.  Social Political Theatre plays an extremely important role in healing wounds, allowing people's voices to be heard, and in initiating a positive social change.  It is an incredibly effective tool to educate and initiate life-changing shifts in the consciousness and lives of the people involved.

Travelling through the physical and emotional landscapes of Bolivia, Colombia and Brazil, we encounter a number of Theatre companies, their charismatic players and their colourful audiences. We see life reflected in the plays they present, and massive changes as a result of their theatre, both in the lives of the performers and the their audience.  The promo attached gives you a taste of our time in Bolivia.

The Impact

Let's be honest, the world is changing, and is in a bit of a state at the moment!  Corruption, violence, massive social inequality, poverty and violent resistance are often the order of the day.  Social Political Theatre in Latin America has a thriving, healthy scene that offers a peaceful solution to violent resistance, that is both beautiful and provocative.  We meet the amazing characters and their theatre companies and hear their incredible stories that have given hope and meaning to many lives.  Be a part of something that has the potential to touch and inspire many more broken people to positive action in heart and mind.  This film will also serve as a showcase for the vibrant Social Political scene in Latin America, and will give their theatre and their message a rare opportunity for international exposure and support.

What We Need & What You Get

We need your generosity in cash!!!  Our initial production funds are coming to an end, and we are still in production and needing to fund out post production!  To date, we have provided our equipment, travel costs and expertise for free, as we believe in the potential for this project to expose a little known about form of theatre, and hope that it may influence its audience in film, as it has it's theatrical one... We aim to inspire a way for peaceful social and political change. We have been supported by the love and generosity of all the theatre companies involved to date, and would love for you to be a part of this!

We already have a few worldwide distribution companies and broadcasters interested, but none of them are able to offer cash in these rather tight times!  That's where you guys come in...  Whatever amount you are able to offer, we would accept with much appreciation and thanks!!!  This will fund the rest of the production and a little of the rather expensive post production in professional studios.  If we raise more than our goal, we would be able to employ the brilliant Calexico to create a fitting soundtrack.

Have a look at our perks for your returns, which could include a credit in the film, invitations to the launch and screenings depending on the kind of 'rock of support' you would like to be. We're in talks for screenings in LA, Bolivia, Colombia. Portugal, Italy and Brazil as well as the UK.  We are happy to entertain any other suggestions from you guys as to how you can benefit from supporting us!!! :)

Amrica del Sur como nunca la has visto en una pelcula! Tierra Firme es un documental que observa a la vibrante escena del teatro social-poltico-experimental en Amrica Latina.]

A medida que viajamos a travs de paisajes fsicos y teatrales de Bolivia, Colombia y Brasil, nos encontramos con una serie de carismticos personajes en el camino. Los teatros que vamos conociendo hacen un papel muy importante en la curacin de heridas, dejando que la voz de las personas sea oda, cambiando percepciones y por consiguiente...vidas. Y as empezar un cambio social positivo.

La pelcula cuenta con el Teatro la Candelaria con Patricia Ariza y Santiago Garca,Teatro Matacandelas y Cristobal Perez, Teatro Presaggio y Diego Montoya en Colombia. Csar Brie y el Teatro de Los Andes, Freddy Chipana y Teatro el Alto y Teatro Presaggio en Bolivia y Teatro Vertigem y Teatro do Oprimido en Brasil.

Esta pelcula servir tambin como un showcase para la vibrante escena social-poltica en Amrica Latina, y dar al mensaje de las compaas de teatro una rara oportunidad para la exposicin y el apoyo internacional.

Tambin ofrece la oportunidad de una nueva visin de Amrica del Sur, mostrando la visin positiva en un continente que se encuentra en dificultades.

Ns somos uma equipa independente de produtores de filmes em formato de documentrio que apaixonada pelo poder do cinema e teatro para inspirar, mover, educar e iniciar uma mudana social positiva. Sim, ainda h pessoas que gostariam de mudar o mudo suavemente, claro!

A Amrica Latina um continente que tem sido disputado e dilacerado por instabilidade poltica, pobreza, deficincias na educao e violncia. O Teatro Poltico-social desempenha um papel extremamente importante na cura de feridas, permitindo que as vozes das pessoas sejam ouvidas, e que se inicie uma mudana social positiva. uma ferramenta extremamente eficaz para educar e iniciar movimentos de mudana ao nvel da conscincia e das vidas das pessoas envolvidas.

Viajando pelas paisagens fsicas e emocionais da Bolvia, Colmbia e Brasil, deparmo-nos com uma srie de companhias de Teatro, os seus intervenientes carismticos e as suas audincias coloridas. Vimos a vida reflectida nas peas que apresentam, e grandes mudanas como resultado do seu teatro, tanto na vida dos artistas como na do seu pblico. O vdeo promocional em anexo permite dar uma ideia da nossa estadia na Bolvia.

Ns encontrmos personagens incrveis e as suas companhias de teatro e ouvimos as suas histrias incrveis que deram esperana e significado para muitas vidas. Faa parte de algo que tem o potencial de tocar e inspirar muitas pessoas de vidas desfeitas a agir positivamente no corao e na mente. Este filme tambm servir como uma montra para a vibrante cena Scio-Poltica na Amrica Latina, e vai dar ao seu teatro e sua mensagem uma rara oportunidade para exposio e apoio internacional.
