Thrall-
Battered and bruised, a woman awakes in a strange underground compound. She attempts to flee, only to discover that she has become a piece of a complex and mysterious puzzle. Hope for escape quickly fades as the situation becomes increasingly horrific.

Disenchanted by American horror films recent destruction via glossy CGI, rehashed re-booted re-makes, and campy, cheap thrills; writer/director Chad Rullman is on a mission to develop a truly scary and suspenseful horror movie. One that will reclaim the genre, and bring American horror films back to the heights achieved in the 70s & 80s.

Thrall, the short film, will serve as an appetizer to showcase Rullman’s dark, eerie style and characters which are being developed for a feature. This suspenseful, chilling short will offer a glimpse of what’s to come and whet appetites for the feature.

Thrall will be shot on film and will use practical FX and sets.

Thrall Crew
Writer/Director Chad Rullman is best known for his music video work with iconic bands Mastodon & Neurosis. If you know Rullman’s music videos, you have a great idea of what to expect from the visuals in Thrall.

Andre Freitas of AFX Studios is providing all the special makeup effects, including several cuts, scars and bruises. Andre’s amazing work and cutting-edge techniques have been seen in film and tv programs such as Zombieland, The Vampire Diaries, and Kalifornia.

Legendary metal band Neurosis will be providing soundtrack material via their alter-ego, Tribes of Neurot. Tribes’ rhythmic, scraping, panic and nightmare-inducing tracks paint pictures on their own. We are honored to be pairing up visuals with their soundscapes.

Thrall has a strong and diverse cast:
Christie Vozniak plays the lead role as our terrified, amnesiac survivor.

Joe Van Patten, who’s worked with Rullman on past projects, is unrivaled as ‘the creepy man’ who first encounters our scared protagonist. Joe’s performance art under the name Pheotus has made him infamous in Atlanta.

Renee Nelson of the band Envie will be playing our ‘harpist’. Being a professional musician and an actual harpist, she’ll bring a needed depth and understanding to her role, as well as providing us with her beautiful harp.

Karate black-belt and pro stuntman, John Evenden, rounds out the cast as our ‘horrific man’. You hope and pray for our little amnesiac until you gaze upon the horrific man. He is scary.
