Our Story

In 2013, a group of 7 young men will depart on a 65 ft sailboat from Vancouver, Canada on the most epic and dangerous journey of their lives.  They will be leaving everything they know for 8 months as they attempt to sail around the America's and capture their journey for the world to see.   

Their goal- to give the many peoples of the continent a voice, so as to inspire one another.  Together with world-renowned surfers, musicians, activists, scientists and everyday people they'll explore the many projects that create the movement that is growing amongst their generation.  A movement of environmental awareness, global unity, and social awakening.  A movement that seeks to protect this planet and its people for the many generations to come.

THE WINDS is a 13-part travel-adventure series aimed for television broadcast as well as various online platforms.   An exploration of both problems and answers, the dangerous and awe-inspiring- a show that aims to put the real back into reality TV. 

Our Plan of Attack

It's been an amazing journey so far and we haven't even began sailing yet.  Needless to say, we've got a long battle ahead of us.  Creating your own TV show following the journey of 7 artists (who don't sail) as they sail the equivalent of the length of the world trying to better the planet while fighting storms, pirates, etc. on a nonexistent budget without a broadcaster is perhaps even a little too ambitious for us. So our plan is this-

This spring of 2012 -upon the completion of this campaign- THE WINDS will set sail for EPISODE 1 (the pilot episode) around Vancouver Island and into the Great Bear Rain-forest of British Columbia, Canada.  

Upon the completion of the Pilot Episode, the crew will then be going to the desired broadcasters with that Pilot to find the right partner for the Series as a whole.

In the event that we cannot find the right broadcaster, we'll be using that Pilot to find corporate sponsors, private investors and perhaps our dear friends at IndieGoGo to raise enough rice, fuel, and life insurance to make the trip happen.

We're confident after 8 months, the broadcasters will be coming to us.

The Impact

What We Need & What You Get

Our goal of 15,000 is a very loose number because the reality is, we're gonna make it happen no matter what.  The figure just determines how epic (and safe) it will be.  The boat, the gear, the equipment- the better it is, the easier it is to grab our audiences attention.  Once we have that, the movement begins.

If four months from now we find ourselves short of our goal, worry not.  It's going to take a lot more then that to stop us.  We believe in this project and we're going to get it done even if it means getting towed by an unsuspecting Cruise ship along the way (Kidding of course.. I think).
