We did it!

Thanks to your support, we now have a lovely website where you can already watch our second episode. And more are coming up!

The Video

What you see up there isn't an introductory video where we ask you for your support. Instead, it's a full episode of the show we'd like to do, so you can get a real feeling for what we're trying to accomplish.

Our Story

Who are we? Well, we're a married couple and a cat. We make our living from creative work (our artistic output includes indie games like The Infinite Ocean and The Book of Living Magic; lately we've been working on an art project called The Oneiropolis Compendium), which is to say we're rather poor.

But we can't let that stop us from trying to enjoy life!

Verena loves cooking, and we've always enjoyed internet cooking shows (we were big fans of Kamikaze Cookery); and we've also often been frustrated by how needlessly convoluted many of the recipes you find on the internet are. So we thought we'd create a show that's all about making good cooking accessible to those of us who are on the lower end of the income spectrum.

And we've already done an episode (see above)! And people liked it - we even got several photos of delicious-looking bread baked with the instructions from our video.

Unfortunately, the "starving artists" part of the title isn't a joke, so while we can keep doing the show, we can't even afford a website. And a website would be sort of essential to being able to get the show out there where people will find it. We could also use a bit of money to fix various things in the kitchen.

The Impact

We'll show people how to make food that is yummy and yet affordable. We'll show that cooking isn't some mysterious superpower but something you can learn. And we'll make a show that is fun to watch - a show you'll be able to watch even if you're not a fan of cooking.

What We Need & What You Get

The money will be used to pay for a bit of webspace and a domain; if possible for a couple of years. What is left over will go towards:

  • Fixing the light in our kitchen, so you can see what we're doing and we can also film at night.
  • Fixing the light in our oven, so you can see what we're baking.
  • Getting a better camera microphone.

Other Ways You Can Help

Spreading of the word is always appreciated. Neither this IndieGoGo campaign nor the actual show can achieve much without word of mouth - so let everyone who might be interested know about them!
