The Smack App.
Imagine, pretend if you need to ...You're sitting on the other end of a call as your friend explains that they just went back into a lousy relationship that they swore they'd never go back to.
You just got a bonus, you can finally pay off your debts and your sweetie says "lets go on a vacation or go out and celebrate"! (The reply will determine who needs the smack here.)
You have faithfully stuck to your new diet plan all week and have lost 5 pounds, and now you are at a dinner party and your accountability partner/friend says "just a little wont hurt you, you deserve it"! (Again ...The reply will determine who needs the smack here.)
By now you're all thinking of someone you'd just love to SMACK!
No, not a real one, but a virtual one! We are into kindness here, not cruelty! Something that wakes them (or you) up. Helping one to avoid that "that was really dumb" feeling, while instilling that "Its really ok to laugh at my human side" awareness!
Think of that someone you would love to say "I TOLD YOU SO" to, or a more parentally correct "You've been actively doing what everyone told you not to do...and it played out exactly like everyone told you it would" or the "smack" you are sending from the back of your mind as you say in your sweetest southern voice "Bless your heart".
We all do dumb, self-damaging things from time to time, so no one is immune from the need for this kind of 'get a grip' moment of kindness from your friends and family members who care... and who suffer almost as much brain damage watching them do dumb things as they do from actually doing them. After all we are just spiritual beings, having human experiences right?!
The Smack App solves none of these "human experiences". It will not make you smarter, although it may help one to learn from their mistakes a little better. It won't undo the brain damage the casual observers in your life go through every time one falls into one of these behavior patterns, but it just might make it more entertaining! Soften the blow, so to speak.

The Smack App is a video messaging app that is being developed by Dr. Martha Reed to help people realize, in a humorous, lighthearted way, when they are falling into a bad pattern in their lives and give them that remedial wake-up that can help them make a better decision in their lives. Allowing us to deliver the much needed message in a way that would otherwise be avoided as not to offend or upset anyone.
The Smack App will allow you to send short videos of Dr. Reed's fun-based intervention messages to help get your friends and family back on the right track when they've just done something utterly ... Well, lets just say not so smart.
Some of the video messages being developed are: The Dating Smack, The Diet Smack, The What Were You Thinking Smack, etc. featuring Dr. Reed delivering her best corrective interventions! Spiritual Gansta Style!
Our goal with the Smack App is to provide everyone with a fun and funny tool for improving their lives by giving us all that much-needed "enlightening nudge" for our most self-damaging behaviors, while creating an environment of friends and family who care enough to be that supportive partner in our lives who knows when we need a supportive kick in the rump.
For this app to become a reality though, we need your help. We need to cover costs for some serious video production and editing as well as for initial production costs for the app. We're asking for $15,000 of your help to make this entertaining and helpful addition to our lives a reality.
Each donation, no matter how small, is an important one, and we appreciate them all tremendously. That's why we have put together this assortment of rewards for every donation level. Donate at whatever level you'd like; then come back again and donate again! And again! Bring your friends, make a day of it!
All joking aside, though, Dr. Martha Reed is a credentialed expert in helping people break through their mental and emotional blocks to help them live the better life that they deserve. She treats all of her clients with respect and honesty so that every client expects that of themselves in the way they treat themselves and in the way they expect to be treated by others. This app extends her gentle but direct approach at getting people's attention to the patterns and issues in their lives that are causing them to stall or get stuck in familiar, painful ruts.
Please help Dr. Reed get this app into production and onto phones and mobile devices like yours so that we can all take those corrective actions we need to lead better lives.
Please note though: this project is meant to help friends and family step up and share a real, humorous, gentle but clear way of communicating when they see someone doing something they know will be regretted later. It has nothing to do with promoting violence, should never be used to bully or intimidate anyone, nor to abuse anyone. It's about empowering each other to help us make the right changes in our lives, not providing license to abuse each other more.
