THE SAVING is a story of an accountant who, through sharing the dreams of the dead, tries to prevent a young woman from committing suicide to escape the guilt of of her mothers death.

At least, that is what the film is about. But the making of The Saving is a story in and of itself. Rebecca Davis, producer, here, and I want to talk a little about the force behind this little film. The Saving was written by 17 year-old MJ Slide, who will be directing the film as well. It is her unusual and inspiring drive and passion that that have propelled this short film into the minds and hearts of so many industry professionals. I personally can say that I never thought I would find myself producing a short film for a teenaged director. But after sitting down once with MJ, I knew I had to get involved. Im also not the only one that feels this way.

When MJ sent me THE SAVING, I immediately devoured it.  Upon first meeting MJ, I knew there was something special about her.  The poise, intelligence and confidence she has are well beyond her years.  Those talents are evident in her writing as well.  The script is fresh and creative.  This is one girl to watch.  Shes a tsunami of her own who will take this industry by storm.  I urge you to help her ride the wave.

We are looking for $7500. Most of this budget will be going toward a crucial scene that involves shutting down a road. Part of the budget will go toward rental of quality lighting and sound equipment, post production, and, finally, craft service for the four day shoot.
