The Saga Of The European King is a story written by me, Terome (Tom) McNally, and illustrated by a dashing Brazilian artist by the name of Bruno Stahl. It is a fantasy comedy, set in an approximation of Medieval Europe, though it has more in common with the likes of Planescape: Torment, Conan The Adventurer, Shining Force and The Pirates Of Dark Water than it has with actual history. The titular King is loved by all in the apparently utopian Kingdom of Europe, but discovers that he is not worthy of their unconditional love unless he goes out with a few friends and murders the season of Winter, which makes people cold and miserable for one half of their entire lives.

The first draft of the story was written as a blog that became quite pleasantly popular, and our plan is to release the the first of book of the story, polished and finalised and accompanied by Bruno's luscious paintings, as a printed, dead-tree book as well as on the web and as a series of podcasts. So here we are drumming up funds for a print run and to pay Bruno for a full set of gorgeous illustrations.

The entire text will be uploaded, chapter by chapter, onto this Indiegogo page, alongside a smattering of the paintings that Bruno has already made and the full embryonic cycle of the rest of the paintings he will make in the near future. There will also be galloping updates on my personal website, Little Old Man in case you'd like to nose around there.

Bruno and I are mired in minimum-wage drudgery at the present, with only a few dim, distant lights marking our way out of the muck. I'd like to think that The Saga Of The European King is the brightest of these twinkling globes suspended in the ineffable dark. But I think a lot of things.

Sincerely,
Terome McNally
