The Plastic Effect is a short film that I partially shot and edited in 2006, for a budget of $3k however I am not satisfied with the final cut and need to do some additional work on it which consist in:
-shooting 4 additional scenes (showing the “aftermath” of the show and how it destroyed Jenny’s life and relationship + showing the sadistic reaction of the audience who both feels sorry for her and enjoyed watching the show)
-doing some additional post-production work (sound editing, voice over work, color correction)
My goal is to submit it to all the major film festivals throughout the next year.
It is a very involved project, showing how cruel and unethical, though
entertaining, reality TV can be. The current version doesn’t fully and expressively carry that message as I would like it to.
