The Dominican tourism industry is a controversial topic. The jewel of the Caribbeans quick development has had many devastating affects: hotels on the beach destroying marine life and ignoring environmental decrees, natives denied the right to enjoy their own beaches which are public by law and the monopolizing of tourism revenue.
