Lauren is a seventeen year old patient at an eating disorder clinic. Being there against her will makes the days long and hard, especially since she doesn’t have an eating disorder. Her emaciated figure may convince you otherwise but in reality she is a prisoner of OCD. Some of her compulsive behaviors include unusual eating habits which have landed her in the predicament. Day in and day out she performs the same rituals, surrounded by eating disorder victims who just don’t understand until one day a new patient arrives. A young boy named Michael. Lauren is drawn to him, but not in a romantic way. There is something curious about him. She senses a level of understanding with him. He is a recovering cocaine addict. He is extremely underweight as well due to his previous drug use. Lauren and Michael explore one another’s stories as they try to make it through the program with the label “Misfits”.
