The Mid Cities is the name for a batch of songs I wrote directly after two years of pretty steady touring. They're not exactly about that experience, but they're definitely informed by the difficulties involved in being away from home for long stretches. I've been nursing this project for the past year - finishing the arrangements, testing the songs with a handful of live shows, and getting the basics of the recordings finished - and it's finally hit the home stretch.
Which means I officially need some help.
For what? Well, like most professions, the people involved in making records sound good require an income of their own, and rightfully so. I'm raising this money primarliy to pay for mixing and mastering of the record, two activities I am in no way equipped (talent or gear-wise) to do myself. As with most things, you get what you pay for. So, I'm planning on paying 2K for mixing and 2K for mastering, and the remaining 1K will go toward printing of CDs and T-shirts. On the off chance we go over our goal, the extra money will be spent covering promotional campaigns, solicitations, and paying the generous people who initially donated their time to this record. I truly have amazing friends, and nothing would make me happier than repaying the people that have supported this project with their time and energy.
