Our Story

The Man That Got Away is the new short film written and directed by Trevor Anderson, whose films have played at many A-list film festivals, including Sundance, Berlin and Toronto. It’s a 25-minute musical documentary that tells the true life story of Trevor’s great-uncle Jimmy in six original songs. The Impact

Your support allows us to manufacture and release the soundtrack as a CD, including the six original songs from the film produced and recorded by Doug Organ at Edmontone Studio, and featuring bonus remixes of all these songs by Canadian indie musicians Chad VanGaalen, Cadence Weapon, Bebop Cortez, Cameron Sound, Jered Stuffco (DVAS) and Lyle Bell (Shout Out Out Out Out, The Wet Secrets, Whitey Houston).

The six original songs from the film feature Bryce Kulak on piano, Rob Aldridge on double bass, and Fred Brenton on drums. This killer rhythm section is joined by studio musicians for that real “movie musical” sound. The singers and musicians on each track are:
