Our webseries is Portland based. It’s a comedy, about a guy named Sean. Sean has an idea for a sketch comedy show, so he convinces his producer Nick to help him out with it. The problem; Sean is the creative drive of the show. But, he’s such a free spirit, it’s difficult to get anything done. Nick, his producer, is all about function and scheduling. So, this adds to a character bias. They are friends, for reasons unknown, so they continue to bug each other. In episode 2, we introduce a third main character, a PR girl named Meredith. Meredith was hired (basically) to be a babysitter for Sean. Although throughout the series, she does a who bunch of other stuff. In future episodes, our fourth and last main character will be introduced. The director from eastern Europe. His English is not very good and he frequently mixes words up, creating comic scenarios. He is also an eccentric creative, who is absolutely devoted to creating Sean’s ‘Vision’. That’s our character’s and story, more or less.
Our episodes are structured almost in a sitcom sort of way. With a huge exception. Sean, is a compulsive big fish story teller and constantly comes up with ideas for sketches. Every time Sean tells a story, pitches a sketch or thinks of something, instead of having him say it, we show it. Think live action Family Guy meets It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Sean is also musically creative. Frequently there are music video sequences at points when he is imagining them. Think Flight of the Conchords. Anything that takes place in ‘real life’ is shot using a “shaky cam” organic look. While any flashbacks or sketch pitches are shot on tripod, to give it a subtle artificial look. And that’s the feel of our show.
