The Story
Darrell, a tall, twenty-something rake is a french fry cook by day and a brilliant composer of dark electronic music by night. The life of a recluse is typical of many struggling artists, but what separates Darrell from the rest is not just his passion for creating electronic musical compositions, but his inability to think about anything else. One day Darrell discovers a drum machine that gives him the magical ability to visualize music and sound. This new ability takes us into a lush world that every artist might dream to live in, but in the end Darrell must make a choice that will change his life forever.
Our Story and What We Need
In early March 2011, I (Elli Raynai) met with Ayal Senior to discuss an amazing short story idea he had written, and we began turning it into a script. At the end of that month, I pitched the idea at a Raindance Canada pitching contest and won one of the top prizes. As a result, a judge of the event referred me to John Nadalin of The NE, a veteran producer of both music videos and short films, whos now involved in the project. In addition, Raindance Canada, a highly respected and experienced film organization, has also come aboard in support of the project and are heavily involved in not only only the promotional aspects, but also requirements for pre-production.
As this is our very first fundraising drive for The Lonely Organist and we aim to raise $10,000 for production/post-production
-feed the crew
-pay for equipment

post-production
