Our Story

Thank you for taking the time to look at this. My name is Kurt and I'm a 26 year old from North Dakota who has fallen in love with tattoos. My last one was over two years ago, but since then I have been wanting to get another done. The problem has been that I did not want just anything to be put permanently onto my body. During the entire time I searched for ideas that had meaning to me, I was busy saving money for the day when I would finally figure out what I wanted. Unfortunately, with my concept in mind, events have transpired such that I find myself woefully short of money.

In the last year, I have racked up bills due to eye surgery and ER visits. All told, I have accrued $4,000 worth of medical bills, wiping out all the money I had saved for the tattoo to try and pay those down. I was told by a friend that there are generous souls on the internet willing to donate to a cause; so, I have come to plead my case and ask for help.

The tattoo concept is a half-sleeve tattoo covering my left arm, beginning at the elbow and covering the upper arm and spilling over onto the shoulder. The centerpiece of the tattoo is being worked on by an artist currently, and the concept design is an ouroboros (signifying the circle/cycle of life, balance, and the world) enclosing a triskelion (signifying perpetual motion/progress and the symbolic representation of past/present/future). Surrounding this central symbol will be an abstract design signifying the chaos of the sky/heavens.

What We Need & What You Get

This is a major project and will require quite a bit of money to complete. All of the funds will be going towards paying the tattoo artist who is actually putting the ink on my skin. If I have extra money following the completion of the tattoo, I will spend that extra money on a nice gift for the design/concept artist. She is a terrific person, and I'm hoping to be able to do something for her!

If I am unable to hit the target goal, then I will be using what donations I get to start the tattoo. The central piece of ouroboros and triskelion will be the first item to be done and can stand on its own, but would look better in the full concept. Whatever funds are left over after that initial design is completed will be used to start additional sections of the tattoo. This will be a project that I plan on completing over time until I am satisfied with the end result and as such I plan on completing it, just with donations that completion will come a whole lot faster than potentially needing to work on it over a decade!

All donations will help me complete a dream of mine, but I am not going to simply ask for donations without offering anything back to the community! My plan is to chronicle the tattooing process through pictures and in a written journal. Donators will be able to follow the progress of the tattoo over time and watch as the concept artist completes the design, and then be able to see that design go from concept to actual ink on my skin.
