We're Making a Movie
While doing the film festival circuit last year with the short film Life Lines, I was constantly reminded that our film was able to hang withor surpassmovies made with vastly greater budgets. Because, though a lot of time is spent discussing how much a movie costs, the most important element in any project is talent. Life Lines had talent. Every person on the team, both behind and in front of the camera, brought talent, experience and a great deal of enthusiasm to the film.
It seems only natural that we now take the next step and make a full-length feature film. To that end I wrote the script for The Life of the Party. In fact, I wrote it specifically with my talented friends and collaborators in mind. The response has been tremendous. Actors, designers and crew members who normally demand a healthy salary have agreed to work for almost nothing. Friends and families have graciously offered their homes and businesses for locations. My neighbors have spent countless late nights with me helping to develop the script and publicity. In short, although filming doesnt begin until mid-July, The Life of the Party already has a dedicated family working towards making it a success.
Naturally, despite all this help, making a proper film isnt free. Thats where this site, and you, come in. Your donation will allow us to rent lights and sound equipment, feed the cast and crew, buy costumes and props, pay for insurance and a hundred other unavoidable costs. The good news is that it wont take much. And when the audiences enthusiastically applaud our efforts at Sundance, or Tribeca or Cannes, we will once again prove that great acting, careful attention to detail and design, bold choices, clever solutions and unshakeable enthusiasm is priceless.
Thanks for your help and support.
Sincerely,
James Evans

The Story
Married couple Mark and Landrie throw an annual drunken, drug filled party to help them deal with the anniversary of a tragic event. Their friends, now all in their 30s or 40s, hire babysitters, stock up on aspirin and boldly rise to the occasion.
They play music, dance, flirt, cry and try to forget, for one night, that they are all halfway through their lives.
This year's party proves especially dramatic when Mark's ex-girlfriend shows up after a twelve year absence. The result is an evening none of them will soon forget--provided they can remember it in the morning.
