Hiram Graves is one of the last surviving members of a dying rural culture. The effects of urban migration and globalization in his native Vermont have kindled drastic change in the community he grew up in, forcing many of his former friends and family to find less competitive job markets and more reasonable real estate costs outside of their native land. Unable to identify with his new urban neighbors and adapt to the changing culture, Hiram is forced to dig up some old friends to absolve his loneliness.
