BACKGROUND
The Dark Man is a web series based on the award-winning graphic novel The Dark Man by Peter Lancett. A recent article in The Independent, a top national UK newspaper, has compared The Dark Man with the Twilight Saga by Stephanie Meyer. Read the article here: The Independent.
BRIEF SYNOPSIS
IN A WORLD WHERE greed and injustice seem to flourish, there is a man who will go where the decent and the good fear to tread. That man is The Dark Man. He lives in the terrible places where decay is prevalent and violence is casual. He knows what ordinary people never even suspect that that the greed and the horror of modern life has been engineered by The Shadowmasters, men who secretly wish to establish a New World Order, which they will control. The Dark Man is the only hope for decency and liberty, and those agents of good and light who oppose The Shadowmasters.
THE PROJECT
The Dark Man web series of 13 episodes will be shot using actors working in front of a green screen, and live action will be supplemented with a variety of special effects – think Sin City – making use of constructed backgrounds, real-life location backgrounds and knock-out atmospheric illustrated backgrounds. Action takes place in and around the rotten inner-city streets and sewers, among the criminals, the hookers, the thugs and black-jackers, where the remaining decent people dare not venture after sunset. Its a violent world, a shadowy world, and a sexy world. Girls are vampish, seductive and often dangerous. Walking these mean streets is a brooding figure, a violent and dangerous figure and a compassionate, caring figure. The Dark Man, a Robin Hood for the modern age. This project will bring all of these elements to the screen.
Golden Dawn Films will be casting an established actor for the role of The Dark Man once a certain percentage of the budget is secured. Stay tuned for daily updates…
All donations will be used for production, post-production, to pay talent and all promotional costs for Season One (13 episodes).
