Hey Folks,

My name is Brent Wohlberg, and I am the songwriter, singer and guitarist for my band The Blazing Elwoods. I've been writing songs for about 25 years now.  Over the years, I have always kept busy writing and recording my own material. I own a small project recording studio in Sudbury, Ontario Canada called Artifact Media.

I have always had a love for the sound of Old Country. Johnny Cash, Stomping Tom Conners, Hank Williams, well, you get the idea. My new project is to record a Truly Canadian Country album, with music remenisent of that Old Country Sound. In February of 2011, I released a single called "Big Red Rooster",. I decided to whole heartedly promote this song to Newspapers and Radio stations Country-wide. I also was asked to do two high profile interviews on Radio Canada from montreal. I created a YOUTUBE video and fired off a press release to every radio station I could find. This resulted in radio-play in Ontario, Saskatchewan, Quebec and the States. I bought some radio airplay at JANGO.COM to see what kind of reaction I would get, and was pleased to have gotten 100 new fans in less than 4 weeks. These fans were from California, Tenessee, Nebraska and of course Canada.

The success of my first single "Big Red Rooster" has spurred me on to make my first 10 to 12 song country album. I am drawing on Old School Country themes, ideas based on real life, some just humerous. Titles include, "The Only Truck I Got Is My Tractor", "Please Mama Don't Sell The Car", "Dirty Old Town", "The Motorcycle Song", "It Don't Bother Me", to name a few...

With the money raised, I will be paying local Sudbury performers to play on the album, mixing and mastering the project, CD Artwork, CD Duplication and packaging, and then marketing strategies such as mass CD mail-out campaigns, Youtube performances, and purchasing promotional materials.

What We Need & What You Get

I will be personally doing all of the recording and mixing of the songs.  I have 9 of the 12 songs written and partially recorded. My next step is to get the session musicians to do thier parts.

The following is a breakdown of their fees..

  • Fiddle Player: $500.00
  • Piano Player: $500.00
  • Accordian: Player  $100
  • BU Vox: $500.00

After the tracking  (recording) is complete I will be mixing each of the songs (generally takes between 5 to 10hrs /song. After that is completed, I will be sending the CD down to The Laquer Channel in Toronto, Ontario to have it professionally mastered by George Graves. When mastering and  Artwork is completed, it will be sent to Music Manufacturing  Services in Toronto, Ontario, Canada for Duplication.

  • Mastering Fees: (The Laquer Channel): $1800.00
  • Artwork: $ 250.00
  • CD Duplication and Packaging (Based on 1000 Units) =  $1600.00

When I get my Cd's Back from manufacturing, I need to do a massive Cd mail-out campaign to all Major Canadian and US Newspapers, Radio Stations and Record Stores. I also need to mail cd's to major record stores, as well as provide digital copies to Online Stores such as Itunes, CD Baby, Amazon, ETC. To complete the deal, I am wanting to purchase promotional items such as T-Shirts, Coffee Mugs , Ball Caps and Toques.

  • Merchandise: T-Shirts, Coffee Mugs, Ball Caps and Toques = $500.00
  • Marketing: Mail-outs, Postage, Stamps, Envelopes, Supplies = $250.00

Total Needed: $6000.00
