Produced by Matt Grimwood

Short Synopsis

A five minute thriller with a twist, told in reverse chronological order
that starts with a shocking discovery in the trunk of a stolen car being
used as a getaway vehicle by a group of bank robbers.

Directors Vision

I see ‘The Birthday Present’ as a film with high production values. Very glossy and polished. The style will incorporate slick fluid camerawork – handheld at times, reflecting the energy of the script. My biggest influence for this project comes from the work of Paul Greengrass who regularly deploys very quick and precise camera moves which conveys a quasi-documentary quality that would suit this story perfectly.

The film will be shot in full HD and aimed at all major national and international film festivals.

HOW THESE FUNDS WILL BE USED
All the money will go towards getting the film made. We've got a few chums in the industry so have managed to wangle some great deals but still need a cash budget to cover equipment hire, insurance, transport, costume, art department and of course catering for the lovely cast & crew! Some of the cash will also also be spent on post-production, promoting the completed film and getting it into some top festivals.
