We are The Bananza
Our goal is to open an after school non profit program for kids ages 12-22 to be able to do art and music. In order to do this we need the support of you!Our Story
My name is Caleb Blomberg (Co-Owner of The Bananza). I am a 25-year-old college graduate. Seven years ago I developed a passion for music and art, but so much more than just the typical musician wanting to play in a band. I had a desire to change our community and give people of any age a safe and fun place to be able to listen, play, create, and more, in the realm of music and art. Almost a year ago now, I finally was able to open up the first part to this goal by opening an all ages music venue. The venue ("The Bananza") is funded entirely by my friends and me. We work completely within the law and are legitimate. So far so great, but obviously we cannot fund this forever. It is the passion for more that drives me, and our team, to develop a program that allows people ages 12-22 to be able to come play music, create art, hang out, and build meaningful friendships after school each and every day. This program will also include; promoting awareness and prevention of suicide by offering a hope and unconditional love; providing underprivileged kids a place they feel at home; encouraging a healthy lifestyle by not allowing drugs, alcohol, or fighting as well as mentoring those in need of help with these things.
The Impact
We are stationed in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Our state has the highest usage of meth between ages 12-22. Our suicide rate is going up for kids of any age. They need our help, and we are here to try to change our community and offer an outlet that will develop amazing individuals with bright futures. Through an environment that encourages individuals to develop positive attitudes toward themselves, their peers and their futures we can bring hope into lives.
What We Need & What You Get
Depending on how much we raise the money will go as follows
First $1000
will go towards gaining the non profit status
The next $25,000-$50,000 will go towards a space to provide our services
(either a purchase or a rental)
Anything above and beyond this will go towards:
Instruments
Art
Supplies
Building
Remodel
